Training programme on Vegetable Nutrition Gardening for Nutritional Security
A Training program on Vegetable Nutrition
Gardening for Nutritional Security at Household Level was organized by the Krishi
Vigyan Kendra, Sagroli Tq. Biloli Dist. Nanded. It was hosted by the Dept of Home
Science on 19/8/2020. The problem of
malnutrition & anemia among women & children is widely observed across
the globe especially in India & the Indian Sub-Continent. Primarily hard-working or farm working women
have to bear the extreme pressure of work in & out of their homes due to
insufficient nutritional food supplements which can be easily made available to
them through vegetables.
21 extension functionaries working under
UMED abhiyan, MSRLM for 17 villages in Tq Biloli attended the training. The participants were enlightened with detailed
information about the types of nutrition vegetable gardens & organic
treatment at the household level. They were also given the actual organic pest
control demonstration along with the ppt presentation. These extension
functionaries will further extend this information to around 2000 farm
women. At the end of the programme, each
participant was given 17 types of vegetable seeds, seedlings, and fruits
seedlings for the actual implementation at their village level. Ms. Madhuri
Revanwar (Home Scientist) convened this programme. Dr. S D Kulkarni (Senior Scientist and Head,
KVK, Sagroli), Mr. Bharti (UMED, Biloli), Mr. Tukesh Kumbhar (UMED, Biloli)
